History Description
Believed to have been built as a 1-storey house by the Francis family in the late 1840s. John Carter later established a little hardware store and post office within the building. John Carter sold it in 1854 to Dr. John N. Reid, who added the second storey. The building was converted to an insurance office in 1963, and restored.
