History Description |
Thomas McMackon acquired the land in 1849, and retained ownership until of the property until 1883. Thomas McMackon and his wife Phoebe were both born in Ireland but their first born, Caroline was born in Canada (Markham West) indicating they had immigrated to Markham by 1850. James Laughlin owned the land in 1841 and likely constructed the house, but alterations/additions were likely done by the McMackon family due to their length of ownership. |
