History Description |
The Ambrose Noble House reflects the simple style of Georgian architecture. It is unusual in that is has two front doors. Previously located at the corner of Hwy. #48 and 16th it has been restored to its original appearance. The dwelling was constructed circa 1830 for the Nobles who arrived in Markham from the U.S. prior to the War of 1812. Operating a tannery on the property it is believed that the front door at the north end led to his office.
