The Thornhill Cemetery was established as a non-denominational burying ground in 1867. The grounds provide a park like setting to attract and comfort the living and a fenced, secure resting place for the dead. The grave markers provide important insight into the lives of Thornhill's inhabitants and reflect the cultural backgrounds and family names of the people who contributed to the development of the village. For more historical information on this property, please see the Thornhill Heritage Conservation District Inventory document.
